I started my working life in the North West of
England as an apprentice bricklayer in the family
construction business qualifying in all aspects of the masonry
trades.
Later on I branched out on my own, mainly undertaking sub-contract
and labour only work, gradually moving on to full contract jobs. I
worked on residential properties, factory units, additions,
structural alterations and building repairs. I have been
considerably involved in the conversion of stone and brick barns
into residential homes. In 1986 my family and I re-located to
Auckland, New Zealand where I started up in business, gaining
extensive experience in hard landscaping. I have also built
several masonry homes including my own.
Recently I have become involved in foundation construction,
including new and repair work.
